WHERE TO EAT
The Inner South has plenty of great venues, for whatever you’re in the mood for. Between Manuka, Kingston, and the Kingston Foreshore, you will never run out of options. Pialligo Estate is an award-winning location for breakfast, lunch or dinner, as well as a collection of unique events.
THINGS TO DO
You’ll never be lost for something to do in the Inner South. Questacon is a family favourite, located next to Lake Burley-Griffin. There are both the Kingston Bus Depot and the Fyshwick Markets, the Canberra Outlet Centre in Fyshwick, as well as boutique stores in each precinct. If you feel like heading outside, you could go for a walk around Lake Burley-Griffin, or head to one of the many parks in the area - Weston Park is one of our favourites for a picnic. There’s a pool in Manuka, Go-Karts in Kingston, and several museums and galleries in Parkes.
SPORTS
The Narrabundah Ballpark is home to the Canberra Cavalry – Canberra’s team in the Australian Baseball League. Manuka Oval often hosts cricket and AFL games, and there are two options for gold in Narrabundah - the Capital Public Golf Course and the Canberra International Golf Centre. There are lots of other local sports clubs in the area.
CULTURE
The Parliamentary triangle is in the Inner South, and within it is a large amount of Australian history and culture. Parliament House sits on Capital Hill, and Old Parliament House has become the Museum of Australian Democracy. It’s only a short walk away from the Portrait Gallery, the National Gallery of Australia and the National Library of Australia.
... AND MORE
There are countless events that take place in the Inner South over the year. Fireworks are let off over the Lake for Skyfire and New Years, and there are countless fun-runs and charity walks around the lake throughout the year. The popular Enlighten Festival takes place in March.
